Mammoth Mountaineering Supply started as the Monkey Bar, a climbers gym and retail store.  Though we are no longer a climbing gym, some things have not changed.
 
From the beginning our business plan called for the best product on the market for our customers no matter how expensive the suggested retail is.  Second was to find value in every category.
 
Rock climbing and mountain climbing are the roots of our store.  Our climbing gear wall is one of the largest in the country.  We STOCK over 40 lines of climbing shoes.  We stock nearly every locking carabiner made, most harnesses, and stacks of ropes.  YEAR ROUND.

Summer backpacking in the Sierra Nevada is as good as it gets.  We have an HP plotter to make custom topo maps so we always have the map you need.  Mammoth Mountaineering is committed to making the load you carry worth every ounce.  We specialize in ultra-light, but we still care about products that will support you on your extended expedition.  From the best trail running shoes to approach shoes, light hikers, high top hikers to plastic boots Mammoth Mountaineering Supply has the shoe you want. 

We have been known for having the largest telemark and alpine touring parts wall in the country.  We stock nearly every part, every binding, every boot, every ski in our industry.  We demo nearly every ski, boot and binding in our industry with over 120 skis for you to try.  And we have a new Winterstieger ski tuning machine to keep the demos and your skis in the best shape for your skiing pleasure.

Our staff is the pride, joy, and best asset at Mammoth Mountaineering Supply. This group both works and plays hard.  Combined we have decades of experience in retail and Sierra Nevada backcountry.

The staff demands a lot from themselves.  We have a lot of things going on at Mammoth Mountaineering and our staff has a lot to know about.  At times our staff has to learn right along with our customers.  That being said, our staff continues to blow me away at the knowledge they possess of both mountaineering gear and the Eastern Sierra outdoors.  We are blessed by not only the best bunch of people, but our staff are truly professionals at what they do.  Experience, pride, and care sets our store apart.  Our staff has always embraced the concept of helping people enjoy the recreation, sport and lifestyle we love so much.  It’s an honor for us to be able to help anyone.
